Standing in the middle of that dwelling, the wise monkey, son of the wind, sees the great celestial chariot, wonderful with gems and jewels, worked with lattices of refined gold. It was made by Vishvakarman himself, who said “Well done”, with craft beyond measure; set on the path of the wind when it went to heaven, it shone, the mark of the sun’s path. Nothing in it was made without effort; nothing in it is without costly jewels; its distinctions are not found even among the gods; nothing in it is without great distinction. Won by the valour of austerity and concentration, moving as the mind directs, made with many special forms, with matching distinctions here and there, swift-moving when the mind is fixed, hard to approach, moving like the wind, it is like the foremost dwelling of great souls who have done holy deeds, of great wealth and glory. Resting on distinction, set in distinction, with many-coloured peaks, adorned with many pinnacles, delightful to the mind, spotless as the autumn moon, like the many-coloured peak of a mountain: it is carried by thousands of hosts of spirits who move in the sky, night-rangers with faces bright with earrings, great eaters, with rolling, staring, wide eyes, very swift. Lovely to see as a heap of spring flowers, lovelier than spring itself: the foremost of monkey heroes sees there that supreme celestial chariot, Pushpaka.
